While Paul Jasmin himself is a Montana native, his work featured in Casa de Costa’s exhibition, An L.A. Sort of Place, pays homage to the neon-painted skies and sunset-dappled youth of Los Angeles. Each cinematic image hints at the multidisciplinary artist’s prior exploits as an illustrator and a painter, evidenced by his ability to render both landscape and subject as undeniably connected. Displayed in its entirety, An L.A. Sort of Place allows the viewer to experience the once-glorified nostalgia of Los Angeles updated through Jasmin’s thoughtful and provocative photographs.

“An L.A. Sort of Place” by Paul Jasmin is currently on view at Casa De Costa Gallery in New York through October 23.
